The Itinerary
Day 1 | Wednesday | July 29 | Edinburgh
Welcome to Scotland’s beloved and beautiful capital, Edinburgh.
Arrival at EDI Airport, transfer to the hotel, dinner, and a proper Scottish introduction with a whisky nightcap.
Slàinte Mhath!
Day 2 | Thursday | July 30 | Stirling
Today we travel back in time into the history of both lowlands and highlands.
We begin with a climb to the William Wallace Monument, proudly standing on a hilltop with magnificent views over Stirling and the historic battlefield at Stirling Bridge.
From the monument we take a short drive into Stirling Old Town for a guided visit at the Old Town Jail, a fascinating and surprisingly entertaining look into local history.
We end the day with a peaceful walk through the Japanese Gardens of Cowden, a serene and graceful landscape that feels worlds away.
Return to Glendevon for dinner, conversation and a warm evening atmosphere.
Day 3 | Friday | July 31 | Edinburgh and Leith
A beautiful morning drive brings us back to Edinburgh, heading toward Leith, where the Royal Yacht rests beside the marina.
Then it is time to sail. We join the Three Bridges Cruise to admire the iconic bridges crossing the Firth of Forth, including the legendary Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From Leith we continue to the Royal Mile, the historic heart of Edinburgh.
In the afternoon we visit a respected traditional kilt maker and learn about the craftsmanship preserved by the Edinburgh Kiltmakers Academy.
If time and weather allow, we enjoy a gentle walk to Dean Village, a quiet and picturesque neighborhood set along the Water of Leith.
Short transfer back to the accommodation to prepare for Shabbat. Dinner, Kiddush and a joyful welcome to Shabbat in Edinburgh.
Day 4 | Saturday | August 1 | Shabbat in Edinburgh
Based on weather, the Shabbat program will include a morning walk around the University area and a special Shabbat talk on Scottish traditions with anthropologist and group leader Lady Hilla Paz Field.
A leisurely afternoon rest prepares us for the legendary second chapter of our Scottish adventure. Glencoe awaits.
Day 5 | Sunday | August 2 | Edinburgh Old and New
Good morning Edinburgh.
Today we explore both the old and new towns. We begin with a guided visit to Edinburgh Castle, the crown jewel of the city.
Walking along the Royal Mile we discover hidden closes, local stories, Scottish philosophers, ghosts, kings and delightful gardens.
We finish with a rare treat. A visit to the world renowned Scottish Whisky Collection and an unforgettable experience at The Whisky Experience, revealing how water becomes liquid gold.
In the early evening we transfer to our next accommodation in the village of Glenalmond, where we settle in for a peaceful four night stay.
Day 6 | Monday | August 3 | Glencoe
An early departure takes us to Bridge of Orchy, a charming highland village.
We visit the historic eighteenth century bridge and, if weather allows, enjoy a short hike along part of the famous West Highland Way.
Continuing through the panoramic landscape of Glencoe, we reach the beautiful Glencoe Lochan Trail, a series of gentle paths with postcard worthy scenery.
From there we ascend toward the Ben Nevis mountain range and take the gondola to the higher slopes to witness the majesty of the tallest peak in the United Kingdom.
A scenic drive back to Glenalmond passes viewpoints and filming locations, including waterfalls and scenes linked to Skyfall.
Day 7 | Tuesday | August 4 | Loch Lomond and The Trossachs
Rise and shine. Today we explore the picture perfect landscapes of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs.
We begin with a special meeting with local Ladies and Lairds who introduce us to traditional highland strength and spirit through archery, axe throwing and crossbow activities.
A picnic follows among rolling hills, with a chance to spot the beloved Highland cows.
We then drive to the southern tip of Loch Lomond for a relaxing sixty minute cruise among serene islands and gentle hillsides.
The day concludes with a rewarding walk up Conic Hill, offering wide views of the lake, villages and endless natural beauty.
Dinner is served at the accommodation, followed by a magical nighttime visit to explore Scottish mythology and the legendary Kelpies.
Day 8 | Wednesday | August 5 | Glasgow
A relaxed morning in the peaceful surroundings of our villa.
Then a short drive brings us to Glasgow, Scotland’s vibrant urban center.
We stroll through the city center, taking photos beside its famous murals, each with unique and surprising stories.
We continue to the Scottish Jewish Archives, the heart of Jewish heritage in Scotland for more than two hundred years. A guided visit to the synagogue offers insight into the symbols and traditions of Jewish Scots.
In the late afternoon we head to Glengoyne Distillery for a true behind the scenes visit at a working distillery and warehouse. A guided tasting completes the experience.
We return to the villa for our final night and celebrate with Scottish dancers, bagpipes and plenty of joy.
Day 9 | Thursday | August 6 | Glencoe- Glasgow- Departure
Departure south to Glasgow.
Depending on the flight schedule, possible visits include the Jewish Archives and the city’s famous street murals.
